Born in Birmingham, Kay Young studied Graphic Design at Bournville College of Art and went on to win a grant from the Government funded Enterprise Allowance Scheme in 1986. This enabled her to build up a portfolio of her work to show prospective publishers.
She works from home and uses an intricate technique in her paintings, building up the depth of colour with tiny dabs of paint.
The antics of her own cats and those of her neighbourhood moggies provide endless inspiration for her paintings. The prints capture the many expressions which all cat lovers will know so well and open a window on what our furry felines may get up to when we're not around.
